Santa Rosa National Park Expedition

On this full day tour, we will take you to the most important areas of the oldest and largest National Park in Costa Rica, the Santa Rosa National Park. This park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site with 192,000 acres of marine area. We will cruise along the famous surfing spot “Witches Rock” and stop in front of Nancite Beach, famous for being a nesting place for Olive Ridley Turtles. Then we will cruise to the Bat Islands and “El Refugio” where we can take a hike that offers amazing views of the Archipelago. What type of weddings do you hold at your resort?

We love hosting events at El Mangroove and are flexible with the types of events  we host. We offer a wedding package to make  planning easier for the bride & groom, especially those coming from abroad, however you can choose your own vendors if you’d like to.

Is there a dedicated wedding planner on site? Can they be reached by email?

There is an Events Coordinator on site at El Mangroove that will help you organize the event, however she does not fulfill the same role as a wedding planner. If you have any questions regarding what she can do for you, please contact her at mmurillo@enjoyhotels.net.

What services does your Events Coordinator provide? Is there a fee?

There is no fee for the use of our Events Coordinator. She will help organizing everything prior to your wedding day. However, if you are looking for someone to assist you  exclusively and throughout your wedding day we recommend hiring a wedding planner as well.

How much time would we need to reserve our wedding in advance?

Weddings should be reserved a year in advance to get your preferred dates and at least three months in advance to have time to plan everything.

How can we confirm our wedding date?

There is a Wedding Request Form listed on the El Mangroove wedding page. Just fill out the form and if the date is available, the Events Coordinator will let you know. The wedding will be considered confirmed only with 10% prepayment and when you’ve received a written communication stating so.

What if we want to reserve on short notice?

You should contact the Events Coordinator, Katerina Reyes, directly and she will help you with available dates. Her        email address is jramirez@enjoyhotels.net

Is it necessary to reserve rooms to hold a wedding at your hotel?

No, you can just reserve the venue. However, we offer a special rate and special concessions for events that have 10 booked rooms or more.

What is the difference  between legal (civil), religious and symbolic ceremonies?

Only a civil ceremony is legally recognized. A religious ceremony has no legal bearing and does not replace in any  way the binding legal civil marriage. The bride and groom will receive a symbolic marriage not legally valid or a civil ceremony is available at an additional charge.

Do we need to send any documentation prior to arrival?

Yes, for legal ceremonies please bring all the documents listed on the legal requirements list.

Where  can I hold my ceremony  and reception?

We have over six different locations for ceremonies and or receptions on our property. Indoors, outdoors, on the beach, in the forest, private garden or a ballroom, you’ll have plenty of options to pick from!

Are indoor spaces air-conditioned?

Yes, our ballroom is air-conditioned.

Do you have an online photo gallery or can you email me pictures of other destination weddings that have taken place at your property?

We have a few images on our website, but please feel free to contact our Events Coordinator for additional photos and the layout of the event spaces.

What do you offer in regards to decoration?

Our wedding package include flowers, centerpieces, bouquet, boutonniere, seating arrangement decorations, and lovely canopies for outdoor weddings. Please speak with Events Coordinator to discuss any special arrangements.

What time of day do most weddings occur?

Most guests chose to marry at sunset because it is the most romantic setting and the temperature usually cools down a little bit. Please note sunset is around 5:00 pm in Costa Rica.

Will there be other weddings taking place during the same time as ours?

No, we only hold one wedding per morning/afternoon.

We’d like to get married on the beach, what is the set-up?

We set up wedding in the beach forest which is just steps away from the ocean because of the slight slope on the actual beach. The set-up consists of a decorated canopy as well as decorated chairs for the guests. A tent can also be provided at an additional charge.

How do I help my guests be informed and attend my destination wedding?

Most destination brides create an official wedding website. Some samples are available at www.eweddinps.com and www.destinationweddings.com

What will the total cost be for our wedding?

This depends on what you’d like to include. We offer two packages that include decoration, food, beverages and other details to make it easier for you (please download brochure for details). If you’d like to customize your event, then rates will vary.

Can you email a price list to me? Will those prices to change by the date of my wedding?

Prices for our wedding packages are included on our website. Until a contract is signed, these prices are subject to change as services are provided by outside vendors and our quotes are valid for one month only.

If I want to bring friends and family members, do you offer a discount on the price of rooms?

Group rates are available when booking 10 rooms or more.

How many guests can I have at my wedding?

Packages range from just the bride and groom up to 100 guests.

Do you require a down payment? When is the balance due?

Yes, our wedding packages require a 10% prepayment. The first deposit is made after initial communications to hold and confirm the wedding dates. The balance is due one month before arrival.

Who performs the ceremony at your resort?

You will have the option for either a symbolic or a legal ceremony, a local lawyer will come to the resort and perform your ceremony. If you’d like to have a legal ceremony additional charges will apply, the symbolic ceremony is included in the wedding package

What if we want a ceremony that honors a religion; can someone of that faith be provided?

No, but feel free to bring your own official of that religion.

How long does the ceremony last?

The ceremony itself only lasts about 20 minutes to half an hour, but guests are welcomed to the cocktail and reception shortly after.

Will someone be available to iron my wedding dress?

Wedding dress preparation is included in the wedding package.

What happens if I select an outdoor location and it rains?

Our back-up plan is the ballroom area, please contact the Events Coordinator directly for details.

What types of flowers are available?

Almost all kinds of flowers can be provided, some at an additional cost. We work with local florists to make sure the most options are available. You’ll be able to review and select everything with anticipation.

Is live music available and can you send me samples of the musicians you work with?

Yes, the Events Coordinator can send you details, tracks and videos of all the musicians we work with.

Can we supply our own music on USB?

Yes, though use of our sound system equipment has an additional charge.

Can you email me suggested menus for the reception?

Yes, our Events Coordinator or sales manager will provide all the available menus we have for events.

What type of wedding cake do you provide?

We have 4 wedding cake options available. Pictures of different cakes can be emailed to you and once you arrive at the resort you can meet with the event coordinator to choose your cake.

Do you provide photography/videography services?

No, but we can recommend several vendors we usually work with. The cost will depend on the service you choose.

• The group or planner in charge will be advised of all new safety and cleaning protocols that must be followed. The groups or event attendees must abide to the new protocols implemented by the hotel.
• Group or event pre arrival process (group itinerary, health status inquiry etc.) will be done one week prior to arrival.
• Hotel will set-up a private area for event registration or group check-in. Distancing protocols will be implemented during registration and check in.
• All group or event attendees must follow the distancing measurement established (1.80 mts of 6ft between each person).
• Use of face masks is strongly encouraged during events and it is required at indoor meeting rooms.
• All events venues and meetings rooms will have visual instructions about safety and cleaning protocols.
• The hotel will assign one main entrance for each event meeting room and event venue. Group or event attendees must have their temperature checked and ands disinfected before entering any event.
• All meeting rooms and event venues will have a sanitizing station with alcohol and disinfecting wipes.
• Buffet for group meals will be allowed without self-service, hotel staff serve all foo at buffet tables. Food at buffet stations will be completely covered.
• Plated meals will be served with lids to cover the food.
• At ques for bars, coffee stations and buffets there will be signage indicating distancing measurements (1.80 mts or 6ftbetween each person).
• All audiovisual equipment will be cleaned and disinfected regularly. Equipment such as microphones will be delivered sealed to the attendees or planner.
• Before and after every event or meeting all meeting rooms will undergo a special cleaning procedure which involves total disinfection through ozonation treatment.
• All external suppliers (music bands, DJ, entertainment, audiovisual companies etc.) must abide to the hotel’s safety and cleaning protocols.
